We Eliminate Fire Ants
The fire ant management plans at Paragon Pest Control are individually tailored to your unique circumstances and requirements. Fire ants are highly aggressive and have a characteristic reddish-brown appearance. They are easily agitated and will use painful stings to attack any person or animal they see as a threat, owing to venom that can cause allergic responses in some people. At Paragon Pest Control, we will get your fire ant issues under control so that you and your family can go back to enjoying your yard and other residential outdoor spaces.
Fire Ant Removal Options

Bait Applications
This use of insecticides is the most cost-effective means of controlling the red imported fire ant. The fire ant bait products contain processed corn grits coated with soybean oil, which attracts ants, who transport it back to the colony where it is fed to the other members.

Biological Control
One of the reasons fire ants are such good invaders in the United States is because they face little competition and have no natural predators. In the 1990s, scientists began releasing phorid flies, a natural parasite of fire ants, from the fire ant's native South America to try to balance things out.

Hot Water Treatment
On mounds, scalding water has been employed with a 20-60% eradication success rate. At least 3 liters of water should be poured onto the mound slowly. It may take multiple treatments to reach and kill the queen and her brood in a mound. Plants surrounding the mound may be harmed by hot water.

Mound Excavation and Drench
Fire ant mounds can be dug up and removed, though it is a difficult task and leaves you prone to being bitten by escaping ants. Another fire ant treatment is a solution containing citrus oil. D-limonene, the natural component found in the oils of citrus peel, is toxic to fire ants and may help control their spread.
